Spending quality time with my oldest on her baby sister’s birthday… what do you think?
I’m taking this Friday off of work, it is my baby’s first birthday!
My oldest, who is 4 1/2, is participating in a mini-princess pageant on Saturday, so I was wanting to spend the first half of my day off on some much needed one-on-one time with her. We can buy her a dress for the pageant, go get her ears pierced, things like that. Then after that, pick up her sister’s cake and head home to celebrate her birthday together with daddy!
I figure she is only a year ancient, she won’t know that I’m spending time with her huge sister the first part of the day. Trust me, she will get plenty of recognition for her birthday! So, what do you fellow parents reckon? Excellent thought or not?

You are right, she is just small and won’t remember. Just make sure you have lots of fun later on in the day during her celebration. After all…it’s not everyday you get to be a mini-princess.
Perfectly fine! She will delight in spending some alone time with mommy. It doesn’t matter what day it is, there’s nothing incorrect with it.
