My toddler’s clothes have different washing instructions, but I usually just do one big load. Is this bad?

I usually wash my toddler’s clothes in one load, since there aren’t that many. I don’t wash hers with ours because I don’t use fabric softener with hers because she can get eczema on her skin. but some of her clothes have different washing instructions, ie: cold water, gentle cycle, etc. could my washing them all in one load be causing them to shrink or not last as long? should I be washing them more-so according to instructions, even if my load is really small?
someone questioned, why change things if they are working? well, I only question because I reckon her clothes might be shrinking a bit because I wash them all in one regular load on warm water. she is so dang tall for her age that she grows out of clothes quickly. if I can extend their lifetime by keeping them from shrinking, then I’d like to!
so thank you for the answers so far. maybe I should use cold water gentle on them all. does warm water cause shrinkage then?

alot of washing instructions are there to cover the manufacturers backs…i wash hand washing clothes in the washing machine..if you are worried in the slightest pop them in pillow cases… 40degree wash is fine for most clothes unless it is a delicate fabric…kids clothes are generally hard on the wear and tear…your judgement will be the best – if its a soft fluffy type material follow the instructions or give it a hand wash!!
I would place them onto a smaller load as they will wash better, and would be cleaner, as that is what i do, wash a smaller load at a time, i only do a huge wash when i have to, it is better to have some room in the machine than have it where the clothes can go more freely.
You could wash them and use a cup of vinegar in your rinse. That way your clothes have a fabric softener that is safe for everyone.
I would wash them all in cold water on a delicate setting. That way your covered. The clothes that say to wash in warm water, can really be washed in cold water just the same. BUT, usually clothes that say to wash in ‘cold only’…you cannot place in warm water (they’ll either shrink or the dye will fade). So…the safest is to wash in cold. Oh….another thing…..I’d still separate the whites from the darks, because the whites will stay brighter by not being mixed with the darks.
If things are working now, why change?
